Portal 2
interesting and odd things in the game portel 2
in the "lab rat" comic, it at the end on the falling paper it says that chell is not to be tested with, if so why would she be in the lab in the furst place? i mean ratman did move hir up in the list, but she should not have even been in the list...

also, you can her ratman's chanting in game, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVckngF-xgM
you can her it in the secrit ratman den up in a hole in the wall in, capter 2 test chamber 6, was it, i don't quit remember war it is...
It could be that Chell was meant to be taken out of cryosleep, but they weren't able to do so before GLaDOS took over.

As for Rattmann's speech, it's unintelligible. Even if you try to focus on it through the music, it's garbled via audio editing of some sort. It's likely it was only meant to sound like a rambling, upset voice, so it's recognizeable as someone speaking, but without actually using any real words.
yes, but thar is no muzik in this, its a file from the game, not ingame recording, and it usis turms like 'Jonson", undotitly cave jonson also know as uncul jonson uther than that, you have a point, but i must say, my favorit part of the ratman voce is that it has this rithum, and is so cachy, and creepy, in that order...
also it all would mack sence, well sensibel as a severly insane guy can be... i mean he alredy hade sciafrenea befor all this, and now all the uther things that hapend, i woudind be suprisd if most of chell's "brane damig" didint cume just from sleeping in.
It IS music though. It's on the soundtrack. The track is "Ghost of Rattman." You can download the soundtrack on the official Portal 2 website for free, so you can see for yourself. (Or just enjoy the music, because it's an awesome soundtrack.)

We don't know if Chell is actually brain damaged, though--Wheatley just calls her that.
rely, muzic? uther than just rat man, cuz i dont her eny instrmentel, in fact i could replecat wat he saed exaktly, with just my voice... also, chell cant spek without jumping... wich semes to me like brain damig... and it is a cool sound thrak
and thar is a eco, but i would a imagin thar would be an eco in most of the lab, its under ground, and also a tap, thau that also can be evirmentel or him taping on something
and who would'nt go completly out of that mined it you acholy had to go thru both games in rel life, cell is luky she was still mently abel to survive all that.
i dout i would have

The file from the game is the song "Ghost of Rattman." It's music.

You don't need instruments to make music. And, according to the writers, Chell doesn't speak because she doesn't want to.

Alright, iv'e seen the comments of this, but I thought Rattman's message was a careless mistake by Valve. You're probably freaking out why im saying this. The first theory is that when you noclip behind the wall of the hidden message wall of Rattman, it's the boundaries of the map. So the music didn't come from behind the wall, it came from somewhere else through some secret manipulative phone in that room. Theory #2 is that when you go to the second floor of the secret room under the fan, when you see the debris, you'll find a VERY, VERY tiny microphone in the debris. I know, it's crazy. The last theory is that when you leave the room, the way you got in the wide open wall, and also the DOOR BEHIND THE BROKEN GLASS CLOSES. Idk about you, but have you ever nocliped into a tiny room like that, it's plain, and you can shoot portals in it. This one has an elevator, a desk, computers, and other crap. Also, Rattman can't control both things at once. Who can? GlaDOS. I know, these theory's can be proven, but some of these aren't or CAN be true. Finally, the medicine Rattman took in the comics (Ziprazidone) was in fact, a typo. It was another one of Valve's, incouraging mistakes for users who want's to know more about Portal 2. These are MY theory's. But think of it, Portal 2 has the weirdest setting, and crazy storyline. The time it takes place in is probably about 10K or maybe 20K years from now. Could we build that technology? There are some secrets in Portal 2 Valve doesn't want us to know about. But, when you take a closer look into Portal 2, it's pretty sickening how active the storyline is. Companion cubes, how they have dead people in them (look up The dark secret of a companion cube on youtube), The way GlaDOS flooded the Enrichment Center with Neurotoxin. And finally, the most mysterious secret of all, how did Rattman survive Neurotoxin? And how does he still live now? COMPANION CUBES. AGAIN, LOOK UP A DARK SECRET OF COMPANION CUBES ON YOUTUBE. Pls, try and make this comment useful, I just spent like 5 minutes making this...

I... can't really tell what you're trying to say in your post. What do you mean, his message was a careless mistake? You didn't explain yourself.

The Rattmann voice you hear is just part of the soundtrack, and the soundtrack is called "Ghost of Rattmann." If it is genuinely supposed to be his voice in the game, it could be his ghost. Or perhaps it IS him, rambling behind the walls--you wouldn't find anything via noclip, of course, since it wouldn't be possible to actually find it in normal gameplay, so it wouldn't be something they would bother building. Honestly though, I think it was meant to be just part of the soundtrack to add atmosphere to the rat dens--nothing more.

I'm not really sure what you mean when you talk about "both things at once." Are you talking about the rat den that seals itself off after you explore it? It's possible Rattmann could have set it up to sense when someone had come into the room and left, so that the panels would close, or, like you said, GLaDOS could have sealed that off on her own.

I don't understand what you mean about the typo in Rattmann's medication or Valve's "encouraging mistakes." Could you elaborate?

The time gap between Portal and Portal 2 is unknown, but honestly it could be as short as a few decades. There's not a whole lot taking care of itself in Aperture with GLaDOS gone; it could fall to ruin pretty quickly.

As for Companion Cubes, they do not have dead people in them. Game Theory was flat-out wrong in their video. Two lines from Portal 2 disprove their hypothesis:

"You're not going to believe this. I found a sealed off wing. Hundreds - HUNDREDS! - of perfectly good test chambers. Just sitting there. Filled with skeletons. Shook them out. Good as new!"
"'Skeletons.' Right, I guess I DID stockpile some tests."

GLaDOS does not put dead test subjects into Companion Cubes. If they don't fall into acid or die in the incinerator, she lets them rot in chambers until they become skeletons. There's plenty of other things disproving Game Theory's hypothesis, but I have better things to do than get into that right now.
ya, man thats a good point on the cubes... didint think os that, althou, the part about ratmans voice is a recording macs sence, also you seid that its hared to focis thru the muzic, well if his voice is the muzic, you wouldent haft to focis thru it, was what i was saying. also, how the hell did wetly forget to at lest CHEK on the "ten thousind humans he was supost to be in chatg of"? like i know he wasitd told the power was out, but how could he not look for long enouf for so meny of them to die? wos he like on a cofe brak for 30 years?

Um, the rambling of course didnt come from behind the wall, because valve didnt expect anyone to go there, its just an audio file that plays in that area, so that aurgument is invalid. That is all.

The only theory Ive had about the cubes is that there may be corrupt cores in them, it would explain why Rattmanns talks to him, (or it may just be an auditory hallucenation) anyway, I dont have any proof for this theory, but Its the only logical thing I could come up with.
