Well... I would suggest to go with Portal 1 that the game would get your interest. Eventhough it has less... everything ( it was just a an experimental game), but it is still fun and will get you hook for portal 2.

Some cool guys invented some cool AI to run some testing. And it killed 'em all. She killed 'em all. And then she tested you and you crashed the party. That's it, you may now play Portal 2. It's a bit more of that, but that's enough to get you ready for playing portal 2. And after Portal 2 you may return to Portal 1.

Play Portal 1 first. It'll make much more since if you play one then two. (I played Portal 2 then Portal 1, it made much more since playing Portal 1 then replaying Portal 2)

Yes, get Portal 1, because you'll need it to get the full story, GLaDOS's dialogue is amazing, and the game is still incredibly fun. Nice and short, too.

Definitely. Portal 2 is the sequel. At first Portal one is really bland and simple but after a while it takes a HUGE change in direction. You won't even see it coming.

The game feels like an experiment or prototype compared to portal 2, but it is worth a playthrough. You probably won't be able to play 1 after 2, just get 1 it is on sale anyway.

I love portal. I played the series on XBOX, but re purchased them both on PC since they were on sale. PLAY PORTAL 1 FIRST. Don't do it because you need the practice to be good at portal 2; don't do it because the storyline will be too hard to follow if you don't... neither of those statements is true. DO IT BECAUSE PORTAL 1 IS F*@!%ING HILARIOUS, and Portal 2, right from the start, references jokes from the first one. Play Portal 1 first, dude. Do it for the lulz!

By all means, take advantage of the current Bundle sale and play them both !!! You get the first one for next to nooooothhing.....
