Portal 2 crashes?

Portal 2 keeps crashing for me... :s
I can open it fine, but it takes a while to open the resent game (in single player); Although after I've played for like 5 minutes it crashes and shows the main screen on my computer... It's starting to really annoy me! >.<

Any one who's got the same problem or someone who can tell me what to do?
I'd REALLY appreciate some help... !

Yeah, I've had the same issue. Windows 8.1 Update 1 seems to have ruined stability - again. Windows 8 updates always seem to have this effect. Every other game works fine - regardless of if it's Source-based or not - but Portal 2 simply won't work.

Same here. This problems may be on steam workshop! Try next step.1 go to work shop 2. subspriction item all delete 3 go to propaty game cash adjust.
