Linux not starting
Hi,

I installed portal 2 beta for linux but it is not even starting, I'm getting no error or anything. Is there a logfile I could look into to see what the issue is and post it here if I'm not able to figure it out myself?

Thanks a lot!

Try the following in terminal:
"cd ~/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/Portal 2"
./portal2.sh

Then post the results.

Thanks for the fast answer

./portal2.sh
bash: ./portal2.sh: /bin/bash^M: Defekter Interpreter: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden

I already tried to remove the shebang line and write it with vim, cause mostly you get this error when the line ist ended with windows line ending not linux, but without success.

My Steamapps are on an ntfs partition cause of dual boot, but that should not cause the shebang line not working.

EDIT: I'm getting the same error on another PC where the Steamapps lying on an ext4 partition.

I've previously removed the ^M, but then there's an error later in the script. I'll try contacting support about this issue.

I found a fix! RIght click Portal 2 Beta in your library, click properties then navigate to the Betas tab. From there, select beta - Beta from the dropdown and click Close.

Hope this helps!
