portal 2 crashes when starting

i just got the game a few days ago and since it has been installed on my pc it crashes before i can do any gameplay. only a few times have i made it to the menu where it has asked me to create a new game / load. i have tried updating a few things and even uninstalled then reinstalled

Sorry to hear that. Maybe verifying your game cache might help.
1. Go to Games and click on the View Games Library option.
2. Right-click on Portal 2 and select Properties.
3. Choose the Local Files tab and click the Verify Integrity of Game Cache button.
You might see that a file failed to verify and needs to be re-acquired.

i have done that a couple times but no difference

yeah, portal 2 has been crashing a lot with me as well. this is getting a tad ridiculous

go through valve and submit a ticket for tech support

I verified the game and it fixed it for me.

same here. I think maybe trouble in workshop! try next step. 1. Go to workshop. 2 subscript all reset 3 propaty right click game cash adjust (subscript few item only)

where do i find "subscript all reset"

Same here I have already fineshed, but im trying to find easter eggs. It closes when I get about 5 minuets of gameplay.
