Portal 2 crashing in the first 2 minutes
I recently found out that my copy of portal 2 has been crashing on the 1st minute of the first chapter, though it never happened before and I tried other levels and they worked perfectly...it's only that one part for some reason, can someone help?

There's a few fixes mentioned in some other threads running around right now, and I tried a couple and have had no issues since. Left click on the name of the game (Portal 2, obviously) in your list of games under your Library section and choose "Properties". Click the "Local Files" tab in the box that comes up and then click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache". It'll run through a check and possibly tell you there's an issue that it's going to fix. I got that message, though it never quite seemed to fix it despite what it said. There are people on the board who have said this worked just fine for them, though.

The other thing to try (which is what my husband did without bothering with the verify thing) is to click on the "Betas" tab in the same Properties window and opt into the Beta, which causes it to download and update your game. After we both did that, Portal 2 started working just fine for both of us and we've had no issues since.

And, just because I'm a dork, I clicked the Verify button mentioned above again, and it reported no issues at all. That part isn't necessary, though, I was just curious. ;)
