My personal Portal 3/Half-Life 3 idea

Hey guuyyyyzzzz, I had a cool idea for Portal 3, and I decided "You know what, I'll just plop this onto the forums." So, for those of you who don't know, Portal and Half-Life are set in the same universe, and Aperture and Black Mesa are two big/rival science companies. In the plot of Portal and Half-Life, Combine get's their hands on the Borealis, a ship that is essentially a floating Aperature laboratory. All of that was just backstory, not really essential to my idea. I thought that it would be cool if Valve tried something new, and made Portal 3 and Half-Life 3 the same plot, but one from Chell's perspective, and the other from Gordon Freeman's perspective. They could even give it a Walking Dead/Wolf Among Us feel and make it so that if you've played one of the games already, and are playing the other, you could transfer your information so that either Gordon or Chell does the same things that you did when you played the game, but I think that if they do that, they should make that an optional mechanic. Anyways, I thought it was a pretty cool idea, and I wanted to share it with the community. I approve of this idea. But... it's Valve we are talking about. They can't count past 2, sadly.

Fortunately, Valve has said there is a high probability of a Portal 3 and Half-Life 3 being made

Only because Valve didn't think people would REALLY like Portal; that way, at least the Half-Life fans were going to buy it. It was a... convenience marriage? My point is, there's barely any reference to Half-Life in Portal. They've been distantiating both games since then. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chell we know isn't in the same universe as the Gordon we know (PeTI trailer). +: there is no sign of the Combine in Portal or Portal 2.

There's a lot of time between the end of Episode Two and the end of Portal 2. Originally, they wanted it to be more or less 50.000 years after the first Portal (another excuse to take some distance from the Half-Life games). So I don't see how could Chell help Gordon in any way, her story is finished.

Haven't played The Walking Dead, but if I understood correctly, that would only work if the previous games were open world or had some sort of altenative ending or character customization, neither of them had that. Half-Life 2 and Portal 2 were very linear.
