Portal 2 Crashing
Please help, my Portal 2 is crashing. I can play for about 2 minutes but then it closes. It might be because of Hexxit (a modded minecraft version) that I got through the TechnicLauncher (A.K.A. TechnicPlatform). Please, someone help me.

Same here. Crashes as soon as I try to lay on the bed in the intro

Have you all tried verifying the game cache?

I'm not sure if there was a recent update but I went to play Portal 2 today, and it kept bombing out, but the usual verification fixed it for me.

Other than that, unless you provide more info (such as your system specs) there's little more others here can do anything apart from guess.

What crunchyfrog said.

Was having the same problem... Verified the games files and it seemed to download something after I did. no more crashes

I've the same problem since a Steam Update 2 days ago. It worked well, now Portal 2 crashes after 2 minutes playing. I have Windows 8.1

I have Windows 8.1, and it seems everyone with windows 8.1 and the new update keep crashing with Portal 2 aswell. I think maybe this bug will get out there and Valve will fix it. But for now, how would you verify the game?

THAT HAPPENED TO ME! What I did, was uninstall portal. Here, I'll give you some steps.
For Windows 8:
1. Go to either of the righthand side corners, go to search, and look for a think near the end that says control panel.
2. Look through the options and find something like 'Delete Files' or something.
3. Delete Portal 2 or any other game that's having these troubles.
4. Reset your computer to a time when it wasn't misbehaving (May need an adult to do that, my dad did it for me).
5. Re-download the game(s) and it should be fine. You will still have everything as before, even the Minecraft Hexxit Mod.

Your welcome...

Rest assured, it has nothing to do with Technic or Hexxit.
Right click the game, and choose "Verify Game Cache files", it'll take a while, but be patient. This fixes most problems for games, but if it doesn't, i suggest you try reinstalling Portal 2. (Right click, Delete Local Content, Then click Install again)

You don't need to do a system restore to reinstall a program.
