Portal 2 Authoriting Tools Hard to Learn?
Hey all! a year ago I did try authoriting tools, but it was so hard to learn. Has it gotten easier over the past year? Any tips would be great aswell.

I actually don't think Ill be using this program for a long time, since I havn't made a single test chamber public yet, so for now I think Ill stick to the built in test chamber creator thingy in portal 2.

No, it hasn't gotten any easier. But if you aren't aware, you can build a chamber in the in-game editor and then export it and modify it in Hammer, which gives you a place to start from anyway. Build your chamber, bring up the console, and type "puzzlemaker_export <map name>". Then you can open the .vmf file in Hammer; it'll be in Steam\steamapps\common\portal 2\sdk_content\maps.

Oh you can!! That would be a ton better than making it from scratch.

But anyways, I've decided not to touch hammer for a while since I'm still learning how to make chambers in the built in game community test chamber editior.

(Ill delete this post when you (presto668 reply).
