Portal 3 : is or is not a risk?
I think it be great for a Portal 3/ However, due to the amazing plot and basically everything on portal 2. There is no story unless they do something else. What do you think?

They are not working on Portal 3. They're not planning on working on it in the future.

Im not saying i don't believe you Cruna, but what source do you have or this?

Just Valve's style of doing business. They simply don't want to make their games a franchize. Anyway if you are really about to work on a new game all the producers start releasing info about the product sometimes years before it is released. The reason behind this is the hype factor which is boosting the sales at the release. Some of you may remember the release of Half Life 2? Screenshots were released, many marketing hype was forming around the game even if they took a LONG time to release. Meanwhile Doom 3, and Far Cry was released, and thyey were still working on HL2. So it is allways starting with a hype around the game and feedback from the community, to see how interested costumers are. If they will plan to make Portal 3, you will hear about it a long time before it will be released. All in all, so far nobody is working on this title

I dont think that they should make portal 3... but Lots of dlc's would be nice..
e.g Having Wheatley become a robot and Join P-Body and Atlas and have him as a partner or something..

I would love a portal3! I had an idea of outdoor testing and such, ut it seems like no one else liked it. What do you guys think?

You sir just made one of most well explained comments why Portal 3 is not coming any time soon or it wouldn't come at all. It hurted me a little, but it is the truth.

Portal 2 was announced right away after Portal 1 as there was a lot of room to develop something awesome. As well there was sneak peeks, hidden messages and comfirmation about Portal 2.

Now... Valve only showed the development of Srouce engine 2 and some art work of HL3. Now the question comes: if they showed source engine 2 screenshots, what will they show next? what game will be showed on SE2?

Many things may happen Usually when a company is working on a new technology, they are releaseing tech demos which can show some scenes of familiar games made with that engine. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point a Portal scene is made to show the new technology, still that shouldn't be taken as a confirmation of the project. Some of you may remember the tech demo from square showing a scene of Final Fantasy 7 just to show what is capable of the new technology developed by them for PS3. Everybody started talking about a remake of the game again, and the rumours were invalidated by the company later. When a game is planned for release the best business strategy is to release informations and teasers about it to spread the word to the community, and all eyes and ears must be there for any news on the development.

A portal 3 would be good, but my instincts tell me it aint gonna happen

It seems more likely that they will create a mash up where Portal and Half Life clash into one crazy, and awesome game.

Maybe Portal 3 could be a spin-off?

They have said in the past they intend to keep the connection between these 2 series nothing more than cameos and a few lines. There isnt gonna be a mash up.

We will not know until they release a sequel to one or both games. Gabe Newell has also said in many interviews that they do not announce things early on for often times they are subject to change, how is this any different?

yes, they can change, but they never wanted the 2 series to be fully connected. Since the original portal.
