i know, same as the other guy, over 2500 in his library, but is more concerned about starting threads (then subsequently deleting them when they are shown to be pathetic) to quibble about a tiny percentage difference, than own the game.

This is the single best remake I’ve ever played. I can’t believe the work here. I’m as excited by the remake as I was by the original game when I played it back in 1999.

You could nominate games for certain categories during the last Steam sale. It ended on Monday or Tuesday I think, so you can no longer do that.

I love this game, but it’s not really a remake. It’s just a graphical overhaul. They are using the same sourcecode, so the awkward controls are still there. Plus, they didn’t even remaster the sound. Like I said, I love this game to death, and just playing it again with better graphics is still fantastic.
But objectively, it’s a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ remaster, if you can even call it that.

I love the sound, because it takes me back to 1999. Like a lot of people here, this game has a special place in my heart. Re-doing the sound would've destroyed the character of the game.

As far as the controls are concerned, I love the way the character moves. I'm using the Xbox One controller and the character is smooth.

I bought virtually every triple-A title released this year, and not one game has excited me the way this game has.

How you can say this is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ remaster is beyond me.

Like I said, and that´s why I used the term "objectively", I absolutely love this game. It might be my favorite of all time. But OBJECTIVELY speaking, at the time of release they really hadn´t done much other than improving the graphics.
It really felt like the same game it was back in 99. Like, when you try to jump over an obstacle, but it´s too high, and the character gets stuck in the animation and just kinda "floats" down again.
Regarding the sound, I´m not talking about re-recording it, just maybe clean it up a little.
I think you missed the point of my comment entirely. I´m not complaining about the game itself, I´m complaining about the "remastered" part of it.
I do love some of the quality of life improvements they HAVE done though.
Like names over characters, markers on the map, the ability to sprint. They made the game ever more perfect :)
And it looks like they´re continuing to fix the problems in patches, so let´s hope that they don´t stop til it´s the game it deserves to be.
