Games not loading - Windows 8

I have just purchased this game on steam and whenever I try and load it, it wont load


I get the steam message this is the !st time you have tried to run this, I click yes and nothing happens from there

Anyone else having this problem?

Right click on the desktop icon and select 'Troubleshoot Compatibility' from the context menu. Nine times out of 10 Win 8 will set it up right. if it doesn't try locating the game's folder in:

C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common

Then right click on the games (exe) exectuable file, go to the compatibility tab and check make compatible for Windows XP SP3 and 'Run as Administrator' - At the bottom of that window look for the Settings for All Users button, click on it and repeat the above settings for all users as well.

LOL....two months later. Even with the world's population currently the highest it has ever been there are still far too many games.

I am having the exact same problem. I tried the compatibility options and none of them appear to be working.

I've been able to run the game on windows 8 no problem since the day I bought it. :( Didn't require any compatibility setting changes. However I have had the game crash on me once randomly while i was on a menu. O_o
