Fantastic game. Don't believe other topic.
Age of Wonders 2 is great. It's not as amazing as the original in most aspects, but that only speaks loads for the original. They made more use of the magic part of the game in AoW2 and AoW:Shadow Magic, which works well.

It is one of those games which metacritic rated justly. It's not especially popular, but it's a solid title for every strategy fan and really worth it's price (in fact the whole trilogy is).

Controls are in most part intuitive, tutorial is enjoyable enough and teaches in a fun way everything you should know to start playing.

There are two turn modes: classic HOMM-like, and simultaneous where every player moves at the same time (there is just queue for units). Gameplay is really addictive, campaign absorbing. There is some multiplayer value although I prefer single player.

Game runs perfectly fine for me on Win-7 and integrated Intel graphic card.

Developers announced fourth game in the series, it will be available in Autumn this year.

I'm absolutely agree with all abovesaid. I'm playing mostly TBS (turn-based-stretegy) since... 1990. And Age of Wonders games are good enough to stand on my shelf just beside Master of Magic. Period.

P.S. Disrgard FPS games in my collection, my son definitely have different taste :}}

Its a great game that still stands up today. I'm playing the GOG version which is running on my modern win 7 pc fine, no crashes or problems.

Even on easy the campaign is a challenge, the enemy always seem to start with a lot more troops than you. Cant wait for Age of Wonders III, the devs preview gameplay video looks great.

You shouldn't believe anyone that rates a game on how often it crashes, unless a lot of people are having the same problem. I remember my friend hating Tomb Raider because it crashed all the time... after removing a thick 'mat' of dust buildup inside his video card, it never crashed again. I ALWAYS assume it's the user's fault, unless like I said, a lot of people are having problems.

As for AoW; I'd go so far to call it the best strategic turn based game out there. Although I only have 32 hours on Steam, I have hundreds and hundreds of hours played between the time it came out and getting it here.

Yeah, love strategy games and played a load, this one's new to me but from what I've played it's awesome and runs fine. Has potential to be one of my favourite game's. Really addictive. And the best thing is I picked up the whole trilogy for traded in cards when the summer sale was on.
