Hints for Newbie
Hello guys,
I just started play this game. I enjoy it a lot, but computer defeats me in first mission in both campaigns. I noticed in this game that it's very important to plan every step in campaign map. In the cities it's important the order of upgrading city/wall and recruiting/instal units.
Can you give me some tips how are you playing(and winning, of course)? What is important to do in the beginning of the game and in the later stages, which spells are worth to researching and which aren't? Are there some tips for beginners in internet? Can you give me the links then?
And sorry for my English.

Dig around here - - and you will find some good beginner tips. Also, I wouldn't recommend playing campaign first. Play single player, with a small number of players (2-4) and mess around with different races.

Massing 1st tier unit early in the game and being very aggressive with my heroes allowed me to finish the campaign on the harder difficult. Look what is your race special early unit and mass produce it, like Poney Rider for Halfling. For Goblin, try to poison bigger unit with Poison Dart and finish them off with Spearmen (they attack first when defending too). If you manage to get an Elf or Dark Elf town, mass produce Elven Archer, they are insanely good and can carve their way through most unit (even tier 4).

Don't trust autoresolve for big fights. Taking the Tactical option will keep you from losing so much that the AI otherwise throws away. Use enchantments like enchant weapon or stone skin. Expand early, and keep spending that money.

If you want really good tips and strategy's and don't mind watching 20 minute videos, do bormac's age of wonders on youtube. He has helped me to learn so much with this game.
