I briefly played DCS: Black Shark and what I can say is high details to realism. This is one hell of a great SIMULATION game. However, if you have the patience, the learning curve is VERY STEEP and the keyboard controls are kind of awkward; even with the Xbox 360 gamepad. I would have liked to try this game with a joystick (something I'll acquire eventually) though! I might sink some more hours into this game later on but as of now, limited time for this steep learning curve, I'll try to focus on DCS: World instead!
So to sum it up:
+Looks great for a 2009 game. The Black Shark model is impressive!
+Attention to details (it has all the buttons and switches)
+Accurate simulation game (you can't get more real than this game... heck, all of DCS series is on par!)
-Very hard to learn and takes alot of time to master controls
-No training mission to help you with the controls.
-Awkward keyboard controls.
I'd recommend DCS: Black Shark to simulation purists only. If you're looking for a quick "Hollywood" action game, get something else like ACE COMBAT or HAWX! On a side note, I would recommend you get DCS: WORLD instead and get DCS: Black Shark 2 DLC as it is recent, more updated, more supported and more people are playing that one online!
