Ricochet set it free maybe?
hi Valve i hope you get to read these i wanted to ask if you maybe can look into setting Ricochet to free to play i have ask players that own it and they all say there are no games on and as the game is a multiplayer a user that will buy it will have no use for it as there is no players...
Also i dont seem to be alone here is a link to a discussion i open in the Ricochet fourm:

This is up to the developers, not Valve.

well i am not sure i am understanding you right... i mean if you go to the stoue page it shows:
"Developer: Valve" so i think it is up to valve as much as i understand

Well. It seems I was wrong. But in this case, it's a 13 year old game. It's really past its prime.

and that why makeing it free will be a good idea i heard from players that own it they like to play it but no with to do it with

I agree, Ricochet is dying out. Making it F2P would attract players, and maybe get it going again, at least have it free (limited) like Portal (1), so the people who's downloading it within the limited peroid is over will have it permanent. If not Ricochet will still be dead, unfortunately since it is a funny game, even though it's old.

i fully agree. im looking through the complete valve pack which is on sale. i used to play these games back in the day but since lost the CD or whatever. what i dont understand is how tf2 is free to play, but they're still charging money for these really old games like ricochet, tfc, day of defeat and deathmatch classic. does anyone even play those anymore? i think everything they released before hl2 should be free to play now.

well maybe its like these like you know usely they sell the complete valve pack for 99.99$ or something like that... so if they set all the old games to free how much can they charge you for what is left? not as much i think
