How hard is this game
Thinking of buying the game since it is on sale, been reading the posts here and people say its a hard game and you have to invest quite a lot of time to get used to it. Is this true? Also I have company of heros which I still play and love, is it worth getting this.

Well, it's all upon you - but generally I'd say it's quite hard for most beginners - depends partly on what you're going to play ? Just singleplayer, or going competitve/fun mutliplayer ?
The time you need to invest depends further on how fast you're learning your lesson and with whome you're playing.
I really can recommend it, but as long as I don't know how much time you roughly want to invest, it's hard to say. (I've played CoH as well, but liked Wargame way more, but that's just my personal choice)

Singleplayer is a bit of try and error. Hard but fun.
Jumping into MP shouldnt be to hard. Watch one or two replays built a balanced army and join a low level game. Dont be afraid to host one for new players only.
You might loose a few times at the start but its not that hard to learn just different.
Terrain matters a lot more than just building and spamming units like in most RTS
It's not hard, just so different from practically every other RTS that people aren't used to how it plays. It's actually better to click less in Wargame. Stuff also works remarkably like you'd expect it to work, so if you are familiar with tanks you should have no problem jumping in.
Even though i didnt start the discussion, thanks for your opinions on the game. i really want it :P

its hard but I personelly don't recommend it unless you're into games like sc2 except without base building and having to refuel/resupply your vehicles and being owned if people are in the bushes and you have no recon, they tried making it way to realisitic which kind of ruined it for me so instead of building bases you just get a set of units and best hope you can devastate the enemy.

The fact that it is realistic and recon and logistics are the most important things to learn is what sells this game to me. Unlike other RTS's it's not about who can activate a units special abilities at the perfect time, who can spam enough tanks, or who can click on things the fastest. In Wargame, tactics WORK. You can run a guerilla campaign with specops, raiding the enemies supply lines and sniping from forests, etc. Artillery works like it should and supressing the enemy is another vital thing to do.

If you're the kind of player who likes 'Build 30 tanks, move through the map killing everything,' and the only defense is to have 35 tanks instead, then you probably won't like this game. However, if you're into a more complex game where you need to keep in mind your reconaissance, logistics, and everything else, then you should love it.

I love the game, but stopped playing because it absolutely insane hard - I would really love a patch with difficulty settings, so I can get back to playing...

i find hard becuase im use to mangeing small small units on a smal map and not having to do several things at once but its still fun
i play this game like a top down view of ArmA and i get along fine. 1 thing i tell everyone. "Huge learning curve"

Monty. I agree some are hard. but you got to explore all your options. I kid you not, all my SP games last 2-5 hours XD

also i lose less units after brushing up of some basic real life tactics used by armored companys

All in all.. it's okay!

The first campaign is pretty easy except for the airbase where all my tanks got shot to h... by missiles and those ♥♥♥♥♥ guys hiding under every rock

Also, It's a bit technical to go through all the details about the military hardware. If you like brushing up on those, it's fun and you learn something. I'm not a good multitasker but I find this game easier then C&C Generals where you have to think about a million things, at once. In that respet it allows you to choose more and develop your own style of playing rather then being the one who clicks the fastests and gets the most income that way.

In terms of playing level.. I think it does have a steep learning curve but that the challenge brings it's own reward when you finish that mission you thought you couldn't in a million years. Then you field the T-72 and it saves the day as it blocks the way for a lone t-80 to save those Polish hardliners! Contrary to my other posts, THAT tank shot up everything!! Still, you have to puzzle a bit and work out what works, but at least THIS game it actually works for a crummy multitasker like me. :)

in terms of play it's simple, but so is chess.. right?

i had an M60 take out a T80 once.... took me 5 minutes to pick up my jaw
Personally I couldn't stand it. I understand it's supposed to be realistic, but I just didn't like it.
Pros (imo): Good Graphics, Based on the cold war, Realism, and Tank Warfare!
Cons (Again imo): Terribly confusing main menu, Cannot create buildings, getting sniped by tanks that I can see (I just rage about it), refeuling..., Slow paced at the start, and too large scaled.

I'm a noob myself so I dont take myself too seriously. I love this game compared to other RTS. No reasearch time; just unlock. There some management issue but I'm learning to use range, terrain, Art of War stuff mainly. Feels good using the weapons I used to train with in the Army.
I've played my fair share of RTS games. I've looked at this game for a long time, curious about the way it's played. I started SP right off the bat. Learning curve is steep, not EU steep, but much steeper than many other games.
TO be honest, I'm getting my ass handed to me from time to time, but each time I do, it's a learning opportunity. Every failed attack is a chance to figure out how to better manage my units, buying units, and using them in tandem with others.
So much is about tactics and logistics, like the other commenters have mentioned above, and that is something I enjoy.
I haven't figured this game out, yet, but when I do, I think I'll fall in love with it.
