i have the same question
to me it was worth it now you should get wargame airland battle
but single player for this is fun byt hard
im only interested in multiplayer
MP is too dead to really enjoy this game anymore.
wargame airland battle is better.
its actually worse but alive.
how does this compare to the new game?
get airland is much better
This is a solid buy, if you are looking for an in-depth strategy game. Unlike other RTS, you can't use one tactic every time to win (ie, I have more units that him, I will now zerg rush for the win). The tactics are deeper than the many paper, rock, scissors RTS games out now. There is no annoying base building, or tech tree research. This is the only game I have played where you must use terrain to your advantage in terms of movement, cover, and concealment. It has a very authentic cold war feel, having grown up in the period. You must use recon to eliminate the fog of war, or else you will be destroyed by either infantry, tanks, helicopters, or arty fire. There is a unit limit, and the map is broken up into zones, some having resource supplies that allow your units to refuel and resuply. You also need a command unit to capture a zone. The maps are huge and the AI is solid. Finishing the primary mission to advance isn't extremely hard, but achieving all secondary and primary challenges will be. Having played all the total war, red alert, supreme commander games, I feel that my review is worthwhile, and that the metacritc rating should be at least 90.

No. The game is hunted by various flaws and rushed developement. On top of that all the players who can actually play this game are since long gone, the people playing multiplayer now are shallow to what it once was. There is also not that much value to be found here, especially not to rate it a 90. It is a solid low price game, no more no less. The game developement ended a few months before the new game came out, they needed that long to patch it and honestly once someone gets to understand the game Pact kicks Nato ass big time.
no an also if u planning to buy wiat it going humble bundle bta tier with many other focus game
don't buy it
The game is good with some flaws. Much of the multiplayer community has moved to new Airland. On sale this game is a good deal and the singleplayer is fun (It can be challenging), otherwise I would recommend Wargame Airland as a priority over this.
For a single player experience, I've enjoyed it massively
