Why is unit AI so incompetant?
I swear every match I've lost in this game, it's due to sheer idiocy of my units. Oh someone's shooting at you? Well shoot back then, don't just sit there and take it. You're routing? Why are you running toward the enemy? The enemy are well in range? Advance to point blanc range and get shot to bits. My helicopters are being attacked? Take off! My Helicopters are being attackted by another helicopter? Why can't you shoot them? Was it so hard to programme some AI with initiative? Also why is it that if I lose 1 of 2 command identical command vehicles I can no longer reinforce? and so as a result I can't spawn more in.

lol....I think the AI does a purdy good job IMHO. If they are in "move fast" they tend to run right into fire. As far as cmd units, they must be in a object zone that has an arrow which tells you that this in a reinforcment zone. I think there is no other game like this that does better than this, on the mac platform anyway.

Your units are operated by incompent cowards, use veterans instead. Or use cover. Also the game requires they you have your eyes everywhere, when playing coop you can focus on one part of the battlefield rather than the whole thing. Also make sure to use lots of recon units to keep an eye on zones prone to attack or spot for your units.

You are responsible for your units, sometimes they are just sitting there. becuase they followed the order of holding that position. they may be out of range to fire back. They could be out of ammo. When they rout... they will not shoot they will not listen they will run...

Yep. I'm not trying to knock the OP, but it sounds like you're new and still learning.

One of the most important things to know in this game is that you can't afford to lose CVs. Keep them defended. They are your reinforcement lifeline.

wait... I sound like im new? Anyways

oh! and (although i havent been in a situation like that about two cv's in the same reinforcement zone) It may be because the enemy had a cv of his or her own in the area which cancel out... thats a possibility.

Helicopters have a slight delay as they take off (changing altitude) they can also be staggered or slowed from being fired upon... stunned i beleive is the proper word for it. So dont get mad at the AI if you didnt order ur helo out of their before they got shot on. This game, has you keep your attention all over the map, which even i have issues doing.

As for veterancy, the higher rank your units are, the less easy it is for them to panic. Ofcourse, it cost abit more to rank them up. it wont just help with rout, it will also make them shoot better, shoot faster, and... uhm... make them better soldiers.

I noticed i repeated what Harm said. He is right. Recon is VITAL. You can't go into the fight blind. Or youll end up having the enemy stab you in the back when you least expect it.

KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE!

What else... yes, BigDog may have answered ur reinforcement problem. You have to capture the reinforcement zone by having a CV there. if its destroyed, you lose access to the Line until you place a new CV to recapture the zone.

I think thats enough info. xD
