How much of an RTS element is there?
Base building? Resource management? Is it at all turn- based, or all real time? Thanks!

There is no base building.

You use Command Vehicles to capture territory which gives you points, which you can then spend on deploying more units, units can only be deployed from a deployment zone that you have captured.

There is no turn-based aspect to it, it is completely real time.

Units have both Ammunition and Fuel which have to be supplied to them by Trucks or Helicopters, if they run out of fuel, they can't move, if they run out of Ammunition, they can't shoot.

I'd suggest you look up some gameplay videos on youtube if you would like more information, it will give you a better idea of the interface and stuff.

Thanks, I certainly like the look of it, and from what I gather the gameplay is much slower than say, Starcraft 2 or something, which appeals to me (not so fond of frantic gameplay, or necessary build progressions). I'm looking to trade for it now in the trading forums, so if that happens I'm a sure thing. Otherwise, on the fence.

It is actually a lot like chess where the command vehicle is like the king and is very vulnerable, and loosing it give you a big disadvantage and also a lot of victory points to your opponent.

This game encourages strategy and tactics rather than rushing and spamming. Yes you can spam and rush, but most of the time your army will get wiped out for being careless.

edit: also this game isn't for everyone, if you are one of those paradox strategy game types then you will probably like this game.

Thanks all, the price made it worth the gamble though it's not my normal gametype. So far so good, but after my first two attempts I've yet to deploy my full "bank" worth of points, or "deck". The first time, I launched battle thinking I could deploy during the engagement. The second, I launched by accident. Is the deploy phase of unlimited duration? Thanks )

1. You can deploy your troops during combat - as long as you have a cv (= command vehicle; the car you have at the beginning which has a star in its name) which captures a reinforcement zone (by standing in it; reinforcement zones are marked by the white arrow)
2. The deployment phase is unlimited as far as I know; only in multiplayer, it's limited as soon as one presses the start button ... then you'll have a timer counting down the seconds.
