So far, the marshals are testing/working on a new patch with Eugen - however, this patch will not completely change game mechanism or so, but change rather unit stats to improve balance and promote underused units - e.g. it's high probable that the Strela-10 gets the possibility to shoot while moving like the Grad will get HE buff :)
AA being able to shoot while moving sounds like it could be great for escorting convoys. Can't wait, or maybe I'm dumb and some AA can already do that :P
No, it will be the unique ability of the Strela-10 then ^^
Well, as it goes for replay, I doubt that they will include this for WEE - first, they will need to have to re-code stuff then (what they probably won't do - just for economic reasons) and secondly, I think they like the current system - maybe some explanation is necessary: replays can't be saved when the AI was participating (SP & MP alike) for the reason, that - afaik to save space - the replay is not really a video showing what happened, but more a script containing all necessary orders you gave to enable the AI to re-play your game - that's as well the reason why you need to watch the replay via Wargame - and somehow the AI can't re-play itself (hope I'm not mixing anything up here, and before you ask - i can't say you, why the AI can't re-play its moves, I don't know the code :))
I know that must be a bit disappointing for you, but unfortunately I don't know if that's a thing which is likely to be changed - I'll suggest it at the right time though :)
Also Medical units of some sort all the way from a simple medic team to Air Force Para Rescue.
I would also like to see some sort of command structure instead of just command vehicles. It would obviously cost more and possibly be the size of a FOB and could be deployed in towns. Some sort of mobile headquarters or something to simulate officers quarters and intelligence headquarters on the ground.
Older games would have one-time fly-overs where a recon plane would fly over and you could see a larger amount of enemy troops. Although their is already recon units in Wargame something like an AWAC or a U-2 spy plane could be cool. Or something like the ruse system in R.U.S.E. to include spies and decryption of enemy orders and dispositions.
Maybe I'm not making these suggestions in the right place but those are my suggestions. If I'm supposed to write this somewhere else please let me know who to get ahold of. Glad to see a game is actually asking its players to give some input!
@MockingBird: Yes, there will be smoke (which breaks the LoS) but I don't know how it will be implemented (only by arty, or on tanks as well) - and you're right, there won't be any big changes to WEE
There would be counters to these though; AA units assisted by a radar vehicle of some kind would be able to triangulate an airborne chopper and, after a delayed lock on, could have a better chance of hitting the helicopter. For tanks, it would be the matter of quality vs. quantity all over again. What I meant is that you could call in six T-55's with the ability to pop smoke, but a single M1A2 Abrams (assuming we have access to it) with thermal sights would be able to see through the smoke and still hit the T-55's accurately while firing off its own smoke launchers to make itself harder to hit.
I think that additions like this would add a whole new dimension to the gameplay, and that it would really encourage players to use their heads when choosing units at the start of a game.
If these suggestions would have to wait till' AirLand battle to be implemented, then perhaps we could also incorporate a "classic mode" where you could play AirLand battle like W:EE but with the new environments.
This is all speculative, but many players rightfully consider W:EE to be one of the most realistice and enjoyable RTS's out there currently, I think that it would only add to these factors if units would be able to employ tactics and procedures that they were actually trained to do during the cold war, and you not having to micromanage all of it would just make it better.
