Confused about single player mechanics
I read something that made me think that if you lose 2 tanks in level 1, you cannot access them in future levels. BUT that if you replayed the level and succeeded in not losing any tanks, then those tanks are available in the next level (and if you continue by beating that next level without losing tanks, then they are available in the subsequent levels, so on an so forth).

I played terrible my first run through of level 1 and 2. So i replayed level 1 and didn't lose anything. And now i'm playing level 2, but i can only buy 2 tanks when a walkthrough i read said to buy 4 tanks. So i feel like i misunderstand how it works or something.

Thanks

Alright, i think i figured it out.

The reason i am only able to select two tanks is because i'm clicking on the "large" picture of the tank. I have 2 tanks that are a higher vetran level than the other tanks and Wargame only allows you to select tanks from the same vetran level.

Hope that makes sense.

Yah that's it. If you look underneath the big picture, you can see the units with experience, and the number it allows you to make.

I've heard rumor that the unti attrition (in it's current form) is going away in the next game. I kinda like the fact that once you lose a unit, it's gone. It makes the strategy within the unit selection and placement important.

Hey I just played evacuation on SP, unfortunaly I got all the wrong units through, so now I'm playing the next chapter Mlada Boleslav and I am struggling with the units I have, If I replay evacution and get better units through will they carry over to the next chapter? Many thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

@MK Gunner, Yes, i believe that replaying the mission (and not losing those units) will make them available in the mission right after the one you replay. At least, thats my understanding, i haven't had time to test this on my own.

I think it is an interesting component to the game. Definately differant than most games and that is a plus. On the other hand, it makes me pretty paranoid to play perfectly which i can sometimes get out of hand for me and detract from the fun. So i see both as having pros/cons.

Ok thank you Okbye, I hope that is the case, I will replay Evacuation tomorrow in the the hope that I can get better units through to the mission after it

Yeah, Evacuation is incredibly tough, my only advice to you is to treat it as a defensive battle and not an all-out rush from A to B. You'll get more through overall if you do 50% defenders and 50% evacuees instead of all evacuees.

If it makes you feel any better I'm only on level 3 and i'm doing terribly. I was able to get through lvl 1 & 2 without losing anything, but no matter how i do it in lvl 3 I seem to lose quite a few units.

This may be because I haven't used any of my command stars to unlock new types of units, but I dont understand that whole ecosystem yet so i dont want to spend my stars.

Just to confirm, if you replay a mission the units you have at the end of it do follow over to the next (phew)

I agree. On one hand, I like the strategic element...on the other hand, I don't like losing any units at all, expecially since the missions become more difficult.

Is there anywhere i can go to see how many units i SHOULD have if i had not lost any units in the previous levels?

Not That I'm aware of Okbye, think it just shows the amount of units of that type available to you in the next mission, though there may be somewhere you can see it, maybe a more experienced player may be able to help you out with that.

One thing that I experienced when I went through this was that you can't "re-lock" a selected unit once you've unlocked it if you find you don't like it. Once you spend a command star, it's spent...period! While you can go back to re-play for less casualties and to gain MORE command points, I haven't found a way to go back and select different units to unlock from the same command star pool. I also like the way casualties feel more real. I noticed myself being more protective of the 'vetted' units with more experience and reluctant to use them unless they are really needed. It does NOT make me free to exploit lesser experienced units because I do need the numbers and, eventually, they will become more experienced. I've never played a game that makes you "feel" the losses like I do with W:EE.

You can reset your spent "stars" and then rebuy as needed. Off the top of my head I can't tell you where it is, but the option is there.
