From the looks of it...
The video implies that infantry run en masse out in the open with guns blazing, attacking APCs. Tell me the game is more realistic than that or I ain't buyin'. It all looks very shiny and has great special effects, but from the video I am somehow reminded of C&C.

None of the gameplay in the trailers is how a competent player would play ;). All it really dose is show off the graphics.

I was thinking exactly the same thing Rolf. I wonder what platform it is built upon. It has a resemblance of Red Alert.

mate i bought this game on release and in my opinion it is one of the most underated and best RTS of 2012. The graphics are amazing. gameplay is great. The unlocks are awesome and the iriszoom feature is just plain awesome. And dont worry the multiplayer fanbase is still there so dont worry about not finding a game. And you know wats best. FREE DLC. The Company has promised to always bring out free dlc

Honestly this game is intimidating, but I'm really interested. On the fence.

You don't command individual soldiers, and they always form a circle formation when outside transport. Their models pass right through fences, buildings and trees, but that doesn't matter.

Why?

Because you won't be spending most of the time zoomed down to squads. I find this micromanagement/conflict scale proportion the best.

I second this post. Although it sometimes can be nailbiting hard. I get stressed when the supply is low and your lines are thin and you only have 2 scout vehicles left.

This is the best and the most realistic strategy in the world, hands down.
C&C and Suppreme Commander are nice but they don't have anything to do with real strategy or realism. WEE does.

If you have only a single unit/squad in your screen, then you're playing the game completly wrong. You play very out-zoomed ... you maybe could zooming to Ruse or SupCom FA.

This is me driving tanks into the open, guns blazing, attacking every which way. Your call.

Realistic my ♥♥♥♥, 11 years in the British army as an ATO, I can assure you this is about as realistic as Superman. As for being the best strategy, any of the total war series blow this turd out of the water

@Hex: You noticed, we're talking about a game here ?
Hob_Gadling Dec 21, 2012 @ 10:18am
I agree, it's not the most realistic. It does strike a perfect balance between realism, smooth gameplay and general accessibility though. Think of it as gateway between clicky games and hardcore strategic simulations.

Perhaps your British army experience allows you to make a statement about the accuracy of WEE, but if you are going to tell me that Total War games are accurate, you might as well have the history knowledge of a first grader.
HeavyMetal Goiter Dec 21, 2012 @ 1:20pm
I was expecting the game to be similar to world in conflict but the game in acuality is much more "realistic" and tactical. There is definately a learning curve to this one and I can tell that there is just a ton of depth here.

You lost all credibility when you mentioned "realistic" and "Total War" in the same paragraph. So, you're trying to convince us that W:EE is a strategic turd, but the Total War series is absolute?

C'mon now, how many Samuri battles did you fight in during your time in the British army?
