Starforce DRM? Really?
If so I kind of lost interest in getting this game.

Didn`t they removed it? I mean I just don`t give a ♥♥♥♥ about DRM, because this game is so good.

There is no DRM ... it was removed soon after the release ...

That's interesting because it may be DRM that crashed the game when I tried to activate it yesterday! I entered the code Key I got from Steam after the game finished downloading and got an ACCESS VIOLATION message that crashed the game, my system for a time and maybe my Steam installation as well. I paid $40.00 2 days ago and still can't play after wanting to for months now. This game and others are one of the reasons I got a brand new system. Very frustrating!

There is no Starforce DRM ... 100%

Wargame has never had Starforce. It has had ACTControl, which is supposedly a fork of Starforce. ACTControl DRM has since been removed from Wargame. This is easiest to verify by checking the existence of acpc.exe in Wargame folders. Only old game versions have it (the game supports watching replays from previous versions, thus the old game files).

Thanks for the imformation, unless a game is in my "must play before death" list, DRM meants don't pay for it.
Currently I owned over $2000 worth of games, less than $200 infected by DRM, and I was like avoided over $500 of DRM infected games.

What, in the HELL, is DRM? I keep hearing about it and with me being the technological ♥♥♥♥♥ I am, I have no idea what it means.

DRM is some unfriendly code that treat you like suspect after you pay a software, they say that would stop priate, thought those harmful code only exsit in the paid version, priates do remove them anyways.

You're not the only one, I have no clue about any of that stuff.

So then the game doesn't have any form of drm currently?

DRM is Digital Rights Management, software intended to prevent piracy through various stealthy ways. It usually uses a serial key to make sure your copy of the game is genuine and not pirated, but can often screw up and screw over legitimate users. StarForce is a particularly notorious type of DRM from the early 2000s, but I don't recall ever seeing any evidence validating the hate. SecuROM is another kind, used a lot by EA. I personally had a lot of problems with SecuROM when trying to play Knights of the Old Republic.

I haven't heard of any DRM that hasn't been cracked, if not on release date, then very soon after. Then the pirates get the game DRM-free and free, while the paying customer has to deal with the hassle of the DRM. A lot of the time, it's just so much useless software.

There are now 2 kinds of Starforce. The original is no longer used thanks to consumers who refused to buy anything laden with it. Now there is a second type which functions on the same level as Securom AFAIK and is far less intrusive than the original. If you need to know more you can look at Wikipedia.

I also need to clarify that my problems did not extend from DRM. I had a corrupted version of the Steam client and there were blocks in my registry that prevented me from using the game. All since dealt with. Playing happily now thanks to schnitzeljaeger here on the forums. Steam support was absolutely NO help at all. Very disappointed with them.
