On a more serious note, the scale's similar to Ruse or Supreme Commander (FA), the settings similar to WiC ... well, there's not more, it's unique lol
Otherwise as mentioned above, World in Conflict is very similar, as is Ruse and Airland Battle (both from Eugene systems, and Airland Battle is the sequel).
Capturing points reminds me of Dawn Of War.
Euro Escalation is similar to that. EVERYTHING is taken into consideration. It's happened to me a few times where I'll have some vehicles move over certain rougher terrain, forgetting that one might end up with a screwed up tank track, so it takes some time for that to be repaired. Or a tank of mine might be hit, and it shows that a certain module of the tank is hit or damaged, which affects the effectiveness of that tank. And the tank there, might expend a lot of rounds--you'll need to resupply that.
Also every unit has a counter. Even infantry, while they're not the most ideal for the job, can counter a tank if the tank gets into ATGM or AT rocket launcher range for example (infantry can be good for defense I think, against tanks and armored vehicles if you put them in a forest!).
Overall, don't touch this game if you're not looking for or open to playing a very detailed and in depth strategy game. Like I said, I can't really tell you what other game (video game at least) it is like, because this may be the most in-depth strategy game I have played, when it comes to tactical strategy. Crusader Kings 2 takes the cake for geopolitical strategy I think lol.
Yea I like realism and detail in games, a similar functioning of the above mentioned game mechanics I have experienced in other game was WORLD OF TANKS, you should try it, its not an RTS, but you control a tank in 3rd person view and fight other tanks.
Thanks for taking taking time to reply Sir, your's was the answer I was looking for :)
Glad to help! Yeah I have played World of Tanks actually, and it was p;retty good indeed. However, I can't on my new computer since its a mac lol. Unless they have a mac version now.
Zooming like Supreme Commander
Unit collection like Gran Turismo ;-)
'Real WWIII' scenarios, but without the storytelling of World in Conflict
And a nice unique art style.
Thanks I just bought it from GOG.com :)
