Game Won't Start
My game won't start up, and whenever I verify the game cache, it says that I'm missing a file. I must have checked at least ten times, on top of doing everything I have found on the forums. Should I just get rid of the game?

Any advice, ŊЏ | Shifu? I have seen you help some other people withe the same problem.

I feel honored xD

First of all: One file missing can be an indicator that something is wrong, but isn't necessarily one. Steam seems to overwrite one file for some people upon verification (even if everythings alright). To ensure Steam's not failing to download a corrupt file, I'd like you to change the download region:
- Start Steam
- Go to Steam > Settings > Downloads tab
- Under Download region, change the region to one that is close to your place.
- Retry the verification. If still one file is downloaded without fixing the problem, then this is not the cause.

If so, can you go to \Steam\Steamapps\common\Wargame European Escalation and start the Wargame.exe - see if you get an error message.

It says "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)."

As previous said, or try to remove the game and reinstall it.

The problem can be caused by a lot of stuff ... Reinstalling is a good way to check the game's installed correctly. Also, check for graphic card driver updates. Do you run the game as admin?
Headschott44 Jul 22, 2014 @ 10:37am
I'm mot sure if I run as admin; I don't know much about computers. I am trying reinstalling now, I will let you know if that works

Reinstalling didn't do anything more than take up several hours of wi-fi space

I know that the graphics card is fine, it uses the same system as Civilization V

A few things:
To run the game was as admin:
1. Click Windows Start button then Computer.
2. Open Local Disk (C:).
3. Open Program Files or Program Files (x86) folder.
4. Open Steam folder then Steamapps folder.
5. Open Common folder then wargame european escalation folder.
6. Right mouse click WarGame.exe application file and click Properties.
7. Click Compatibility tab.
8. Check 'Run this program as an administrator'.
9. Click OK button and run the game.

Also, disable your firewall/antivirus and retry.

For anything further, I'll probably need your DxDiag: See my post here: http://www.wargame-ee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=539957#p539957

how do I find my DxDiag, and could someone harm my computer if they found it online?
ŊЏ | Shifu Jul 26, 2014 @ 3:29pm
WINDOWS XP
1. Click Start then Run or press Windows and R keys.
2. Type DXDIAG in the Run window and press Enter key.

WINDOWS VISTA/WINDOWS 7
1. Click Windows Start button or press Windows and R keys.
2. Type DXDIAG in the Search bar (bottom left) or in Run window and press Enter key.

WINDOWS 8
1. Open the Charms Bar (shortcut Windows + C keys) and click Search.
2. Click Apps and enter the command DXDIAG then click DXDIAG under Results.

A diagnosis will be executed then. After it's done, hit "Save all information" and save the DxDiag as text file. Open the text file and copy & paste the content into your forum post.

For your second question: A DxDiag contains information such as the name you have given the computer, the hardware which is used and what drivers you use. That's not really dangerous in my opinion, but feel free to add me and share the DxDiag in a more private fashion.

I have seen some people fix their games with a VCC+ installation from a certain website. If you know the website that I am talking about, could you post a link? I'd rather not post info about my computer too hastily

You probably refer to following post - I quote myself:
Please download and install: Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4
http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/confirmation.aspx?id=30679

That's working if the problem is caused by a corrupt vc redist
Headschott44 Aug 5, 2014 @ 12:43pm
it reinstalls the vc redist every time that I verify the cache, so I think it might be worth a shot

Okay, you can remove it again: Two things I'm not sure about: Your CPU and GPU: The GPU is the very very minimum and I know at least one case where a Wargame game (think it was AirLand Battle though) didn't work with your model.
The CPU's bit below the minimum requirements I think, having only 2,3GHz dual core (with hyperthreading: 4 cores) .. not sure how the minimum requirements are to be read here.
You could go to http://systemrequirementslab.com/cyri and see if you meet the requirements for WEE.
Anyway, another idea: There should be an entry in the Event viewer when Wargame crash like that (windows key + r -> type "eventvwr" -> user-defined viewer (or similar) -> administrative events): There should be a lot of entries, which you can click to see more details on what happened why.
