XP Home SP3 and otherwise mostly outdated system here, it still meets the requirements for this game tho.
EDIT: Just my luck, two files were not matching up after validating. If you happen to find yourself starting with a save you already deleted.. validate. Let's hope this works now.
Another minor bug I noticed involves the subtitles and the spoken lines getting mixed up for objects that got more then one description avaible.
How many years is that game on the market again? I can't be the only one who gets to "enjoy" theese bugs.
EDIT: I was not the only one, checking the file version reveals that steam uses version 1.0.0.1.
There was an update on the developer website dated early january 2010. To version 1.11.
Why is that update NOT on steam?
See: http://www.focus-home.com/support/runaway_atof/?lang=en
Steam support was not really helpfull. They even ignored my repeatedd mention of the links on the steam support forum page for this game beeing dead.
Unfortunally the same is true for the support from pendulo studios, it seems that they do not check their support email accounts and even the website for the game itself linked to a forum that was not where it should be.. another dead page.
Going over the website for Yesterday I found a working link to their forum.
I posted there. Official pendulo support was not active on said board for over a month.
If you really really really want to play this game buy a physical copy.
The exe's version is for some reason always 1.0.0.1 even after installing patch 1.11
If you have an AGP videocard, try setting AGP aperture to a bigger value in BIOS.
More information can be found here: http://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=59067
Otherwise, get a better videocard.
And unfortunately there are also some subtitle glitches. I'm not sure if you can do anything with them.
At last, I'd like to mention that you can contact Pendulo Studios for real on their Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/pendulostudios
ATI Radeon 9800/Intel GMA 3000/Nvidia GeForce FX 5900 or Higher
I got an Nvidia GeForce 6600 in this box. That *should* be enough.
And I did not try Twitter yet, getting an answer there would be not the best sign tho.. since it would really imply that they do not look at their email or own forum anymore.
Edit: They answered the post, unfortunally their solutions are things that don't work.
I did verify the game files several times before after crashes already and they are currently all okay.. not to mention that removing that *.blog file only forced a steam update without fixing the crash.
If you really want their games buy retail copies since you can install updates by yourself then.. or get your money back easier if the updates dont do anything. I for one will not buy any more of their games. If they can not even manage to maintain their own websites links .... they can't care too much about how they look to customers that end up having problems with their games.
Uninstalling the game now.
Do not buy this game, it is buggy and there is no functional support.
I will not buy any future games made by Pendulo, if they want to change my mind they should at least keep their own forums in order and at least attempt to fix the broken links and the completly ignored email-adress they call their support.
