Black screen / hang at start up

I get a splash screen for the game, but only a black screen after that. Hitting a few keys like Esc to try to get out of it did not work, have to Task Manager out back to Windows. Waited 10 minutes for it to load but no luck. Using Windows Vista and AMD Radeon HD7700 with the latest updates.

With this game and the rpg I had issues starting them the first time. I tabbed out and such as well the first time, wondering if it had frozen - I wonder if it's that tabbing out that made it angry. I have other games that don't like being messed with until they're done loading. Ended up killing it, starting again, and just waiting a few without touching anything and it loaded (again, this applied to both GoT games.)

I'll say this - Genesis load times are incredibly horrible. Far longer than they should be. I don't wait 10 minutes for a game to start, but it's long enough that I'd assume something is wrong if I didn't know better.

If you're waiting 10 mins without fiddling with anything then make sure you have the latest drivers, directx, windows updates, etc. Not much else you can do.

I just wait. It does take a long time for both GoT games to load - the rpg can easily take 1-2 minutes. I've only started Genesis twice since I got it but I recall it taking quite some time too. I notice my cpu pegs to 100% on both cores when it's starting up. Go get some coffee and make sure it's just not taking THAT long to load?

I have the Genesis (paid £15 for it T_T) and it booted just fine on both my Intel Core 2 (4 Gig ram) and i7 (6 gig ram). I would recommend rebooting before running for first time...

If you do that and wait and still nothing happens, you may have a problem with your graphic card driver (not compatible with game)

people need to check the system req before buying games rather than asking after if their card is ok, go look at the reqs and remember if your cards good enough is everything else

To fix the black screen problem after the cinematic:
find: Config.xml (in Document/Agot folder, i think)
find the line about: <Cinematics>
and change: <Enable>1</Enable>
to : <Enable>0</Enable>
Save and run the game.
Hope it will help, it's working for me.
