Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition

Blood Bowl: Legendary Edition

Most frustrating game ever
Read the rules, did this did that... my team gets pwned 90% of the games, only won 1 game and still dont know how :/. Dices are ♥♥♥♥ed up, I must have really bad luck in this game (got 2 guys killed first turn on easy.. just wtf) and on top of that interface is crap and singleplayer is extremely newbie unfriendly (having to deal with stronger teams from the beggining, even on easy).

EDITED: this game might have (or not) some shady AI behind it but lets be honest we are all over it, post is two years old, stop resurrecting it.

Cheers

it is a board game, you'll learn by experience
This game cheats its not just you

I rather put my ♥♥♥♥ in a blender then play this garbage for 2 minuets.

It doesn't cheats been playing since yesterday and lost like the first 2 rounds in normal difficulty single player league. But once i got the hang of the rules been winning straight 5 rounds after the 2 losses. If you having difficulties, try more tougher teams like dwarfs with block
Yes, the computer cheats. Since this is an old boardgame it's meant to be played man vs. man. On the otherhand it's usefull to learn the odds. An action has ALWAYS the chance to fail as it might ALWAYS be successfull - against all odds. Having this in mind and change your playstyle this way, you're on the way to your fist won match. Winning is not granted in this game. It's earned.

I'd recommend you reading this, it might clear some things up:

Well, Blood Bowl IS a ♥♥♥♥♥. Pretty luck-dependant, but you can use good strategy to overcome the randomness of the dice rolls to a certain degree. The basic thing is - try to have more than a one-dice roll and make sure you do the most secure things first and not risk a turnover early in the turn. Also, it really depends on what race you play. You need to choose a certain playstyle and stick with a race that's good at it (and never play halflings...). Even with that in mind, the game can still be a ♥♥♥♥♥ and screw you over. It's a mediocre game, but once you get the hang of it it can be pretty rewarding.
I've only played the tutorial. It looks like it could be fun, but it's VERY complicated.
I'd only recommend this game to my friends who have a lot of free time to learn the game.
Personally, I doubt I'll ever play it again.

I lost almost all of my 'first games' with a race. but once you learn that race, and learn how to use them, its not bad.

just remember, that the computer hates to lose, so they will throw you double red skulls almost every chance they can if they are losing, and if they are in scoring range, or can score their next turn, they will screw you every time.

Amazons are great for getting your team into position, but other than that you need three of your team to bring down even the lowest dwarf.

my advice is: find a race you can play, find a race that works for your playstyle, and if you decide to go outside that, expect to lose a few times before learning them.
Sorry, the AI doesn't cheat. You only have to learn the gamerules and some tactics (very important!). ;)

BloodBowl is very hard at the beginning but if you like tactical games you will love it.
Hmm, i do love tactical games.
And i did really try to like BloodBowl. Actually i do like it, but it is simply frustrating.

Saw several people stating "it is not luck or bad luck, you will learn that soon enough". But really... the AI passes 3 of my guys and avoids all 3, then picks up the ball, passes it over and scores a touchdown in like one turn.

My guys failed 5 times in a row to pick the ball up. Without anyone standing close as well. I failed passing the ball to a teammate standing right next to me.

And i swear it feels like this every single time. I won about 40% of my games, so it is not ALL bad, but only winning due to awful AI attacking my team on one side, while i run the ball on the other side... oh well. I guess ill have to find a guide on this game that not only says "it is not luck!", but also tells me how to make these "things that feel like luck, but aren't!" into an actual tactic that is no luck ;-)

I don't have luck...so yeah, it's frustating. :)
The learning curve on this game is immense. But the nice thing is the community if fairly nice and their are tons of guides to help you learn things. Just keep with it, and you won't regret it.
give table top fantasy a try, or perhaps find the original blood bowl board game. very fun, especially if you think this one is aggravating and unfair.
Just posted a video with the tactics Im using to see if it helps anyone

May I ask which team you've chosen?
Well, yes - it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ difficult - playing on "normal" difficulty I'm being thrown into my 1st match - against undead - with skills like "block", "dodge" (making ghouls almost untackable) and "mighy blow" - while my players (chaos) have NO skills (apart from beastman's "horns"). Such games are UNWINNABLE. Why the hell the game is made in such way?
