No it is fine. I just gave up on trying to "play" and switched to chaos and just smashed everyone to pieces.
Avoid playing the Ogre, Goblin, Halfling and Vampire teams. They are not for new players and are considered to be weaker teams as a whole, meant for players looking for a challenge. There are a couple other tricky teams, but they usually have some massive advantage that makes them incredibly powerful in the right hands.
Personally I consider the Orc and Amazon teams the easiest due to both starting out very strong and flexible. The Humans are actually more complex than they appear due to their catcher's being crappy exp hogs and not having any real strong strategy to take advantage of.
The biggest problem for new players is risk management. Look at the actions you NEED to do, versus the ones you WANT to do. Since any failure can end your turn, first things first.
