PINK/BLACK SCREEN? Here's what to do...

Pink screen

Pink screen/graphics means that your graphics card is unable to draw a shader - this can happen for a number of reasons (e.g. not meeting the min requirements), but the most common is the lack of a windows update on Windows 7.

We've found that some Windows 7 users are getting this issue, it's caused by Windows 7 only supporting DirectX 11 and not supporting the DirectX 11.1 extension out of the box - this requires a windows update to fix:

1) Go to:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36805

2) Click download and choose Windows6.1-KB2670838-x64.msu (this is the 64bit version, the other is 32bit which you don't want)

3) Install, reboot, and the game should work correctly!

If you continue to experience the issue...
It's possible that your GPU doesn't meet the min requirements of the game. Make sure your GPU (not your OS/install) supports DirectX 11. We've had reports that a number of Intel HD GPU's are only compatible with DirectX 10.1 for instance, which we're currently toying with supporting.

Black screen

Good news on the black screen at startup issue - IT (should) BE FIXED!
Simply launch the game, it'll prompt you to update with a specific VC++ Redist if you didn't already have it, and there you go - fixed :)

if possible could you also fix some sounds ingame
as i travelled around i noticed that trees are giving out some annoying sound and after cutting it down it still continued but after cutting the stump also then it vanished tho its same with every tree so walking little further it will be on again :P

Would you be able to get us a video of what's happening? We're working hard to address issues!

@Xiaoman - can I get you to try installing Visual C++ 2012 redistributable from here:

Try installing vcredist_x64.exe
Let me know if there's any change or if it's still black screen; I'm trying to get a handle on the windows 8.1 updates that are needed still :)

I'm using windows 10 and the game just shows black screen after loading and showing some logos

I am using windows 10 and the game showed black screen. I try to install Windows6.1-KB2670838-x64.msu but failed. It says "invalid certificate or certificate not found". Then I try to install vcredist_x64,exe. Successfully installed but the blackscreen remains the same. Please solve this asap. Thanks.

@Delle - we've had 3 other reports of this on Win10, 2 of these were resolved with GPU driver updates -- can you please let me know if you've tried this out, and what your results are!

I only have Intel HD 3000. Can play yonder even at lowest settings?

I updated my GPU to the latest version and even installed vcredist_x64.exe but it's still showing me only blck screen after showing logos. And I'm using Intel HD graphics 4400
