Is it really that bad?

I know the critics hated on this game, but they are also the ones who gave Assassin's Creed 3 a good score. So I ask you this, is the game worth the 10 bucks?

I enjoy this game as well, and this is coming from someone who's played the original "Duke Nukem 3D" countless times. and yes, i'm quite aware of the development hell this game went through.

i loved the game, it was all i expected from it to be honest, im a huge duke 3d fan and although it wasnt as good as it could of been... it was still an enjoyable game which ive played through 3 times.

I liked it very much, it has bombs, babes 'n' bullets. You couldn't ask for more.

It's not bad nether good, just a decent game. The reason it's hated is because Duke Nukem is very popular and the earlier games were successes, and it had bunches of announcements like it was going to be awesome, so people were disapointed so they went crazy and said it sucked with bad arguments.

Most people compare it to Duke Nukem 3D, but they don't compare it to other Duke Nukem games that sucked like the 64, gba and playstation Duke Nukem games. If it wasn't Duke Nukem people would say it's good, they were only disapointed because they waited 14 years.

And most people who say it sucks never played it.

I tried the game before the reviews and loved it, then the reviews came and I was surprised to see bad reviews, and that almost made me think the game was bad too. It's because people get influenced too easily that they think it's bad. If it came out in 2006 with Doom 3 and Quake 4 it would have been a success, it's because it came too late that people hated it.

that was the only thing I didn't like about the game, was that it was too overhyped. but like you mentioned, if it came out in the early-to-mid part of the 2000s, it would've been more well-received. I still enjoy it for what it is

Duke Forever had bad reviews from the day it was released. Even before that, the demo was widley panned. There was no period where everyone laughed and enjoyed the game, there was only hype until people actually played it.

I like it and enjoy playing it. Only thing I don't like about it is how laggy it can be with multi-player. You have an advantage to being the host. As host you can connect shots before the other player can. But, I've seen heck of a lot worse games than this one.

Haven't you heard of E3? They also make game tests and videos of gameplay before releasing a game.

I really liked it. It's kinda sad that it's more a remake from the old Duke Nukem 64 than a complete new game, but it's really nice. But a little dissapointed after 12 years of waiting...
