Another thing to make traffic annoying? No thanks.

Actually not so bad idea. Hope in Tropico 5 will be some. BTW, small motels have gas station within its territory.

I sort of figured that the garages did the service station stuff. It lists how many cars it serviced.

It is actually an objectivly bad idea. Slowing down traffic by a month and making oil imports necessary adds nothing to the game. It's a chore for the sake of a chore.

And expanding on wil's comment, Tropicans don't actually own cars. They just borrow them from public garages, supposedly the teamsters that staff the garage refuel and maintain them.

It adds more realistic economy model to the game, no?

Idk, its alot like asking for jams. Churches are necessary and u need alot since they service so few. Imagine spamming petrol stations everywhere like churches. And if they did service alot then imagine the traffic of having 20-50+ cars queue thier way to that one petrol station they all decide they wanna go to instead of going to the emptier one.

Though for the sake of imagination lets say the devs see this and they add petrol stations. Why would we want to build them? What benefit would they provide? What incentive is there for us to want to put them in our islands? Im not straight up bashing ur idea but its interesting to think about.

This matter requires el Presidente's attention.

Realism for the sake of realism is bad design.

If you want realistic car refuelling, then just drive to nearest petrol station and go nuts.

"Presidente, we're sick and tired of teamsters servicing our cars for us! Please fire them and build 5 service stations!" (-10 respect all factions, -20% productivity, -$5000 treasury each year)

There wouldn't have to be problems it could just be another money making building

if you manage to balance it right petrol stations would have to be a early part of games that requires petrol and oil imports or mining from your own, while service stations do the same they are much less costly and provide a income if you turn it into a cash station via a upgrade similar to how we got in australia, by late game they will more likely be overturned by full on car parks if there ever added and the service stations but may still use them later on as a minor cash income for areas further out from the main city before you get the money to invest more into them.

if you want me to anwser anymore parts for ya just ask and trolls watch out im a trolls troll ^.^

I hope they add a bus station in number 5 and let you have brothels and drugs at your disposal to make it more realistic.
