try to change pointer settings, especially when you moove it you don't have to see the trail or shadow behind it. 4 me has worked right!

Any solution to this issue? I've changed my mouse settings in control panel and nothing seems to help.

I just bought Tropico 4 and I have the same problem. I managed to fix Tropico 3 but only by downloading a modified .lua file that a player made available. I can see that with 4 that isn't possible. I am frustrated as I cannot find a way to change it to windowed mode from in-game and there is no obvious config file to edit (i.e. it must be encrypted). Help if you have the problem and managed to fix it please.

MY SOLUTION: I just had this problem with the missing/phantom mouse pointer. I'm using a Logictec Anywhere MX and the latest version of Setpoint, I checked the settings and found that the mouse pointer appeared normally if I switched off Pointer Trails. I repeated on/off twice and the results were consistent. HTH somebody here.

For me, it was definitely the "Display Pointer Trial (Visibility)" setting in the "Mouse Properties" tab of Windows' advanced Mouse Properties options. The pointer disappears in Tropico 4 every time I have this setting turn on in windows and re-appears right away as soon as I go back out to unselect it.

Try adjusting your screen resolution in Windows to a lower res. Like 1600x900 instead of 1080
