Tropico 4
Tropico 4 loads to black screen after Nvidia 331.82 driver update
I log in just fine with my info, and then the colorful Tropico 4 loading screen appears for just one second. Afterwards it goes to complete black screen, and I am able to see and move my triangular mouse cursor.

I had just updated the video card drivers in the morning and believe that caused the problem. Tropico ran just beautifully before and I was trying to play the last 3 DLC. :( Windows 8.1 64 bit pro and Nvidia 765M. Teaches me to update drivers when everything is working. Writing this thread so that I can email to support@kalypsomedia.com.

A reply from support came quite quickly and here is how I resolved the problem:

please update your graphic card driver manually.
http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/70187/en-us
And please set that the game only use the nvidia graphic card.

1. Open your Nvidia Control Panel (right-click on desktop, select Nvidia Control Panel)
2. Select "Manage 3D settings"
3. Select "Global Settings". You will find the option "Prefered graphics processor". Please select "High-performance NVIDIA processor" and save the settings.
4. You will have to reboot your system for the changes to take effect.
Bazaa, you're a lifesaver. Thanks for posting that fix - I had the same issue, all sorted out now.
