Paradise Castle and Dragon's Gold

Hi all.

Does anyone know how to steal the dragon's gold in the Paradise Castle level?

I may be wrong but all it took was clicking on the pile of gold. It could be that you need to do this without attacking the dragon, without being attacked by it, or even maybe by getting past it without it noticing. In the few times I attacked the dragon first or killed it completely, I wasn't able to get the gold no matter what I did.
