Trade route ideas.
Id be interested in seeing peoples best Trade Routes, complete with the specific trade details per city.

From the point of view of my game, im playing as Cologne, and im trying a bit of a different approach where im not even producing anything yet, simply building ships (aiming for 100 Crayers), and sending them out trading, with one simple aim of having a number of armed convoys for Pirate duties, and the rest just making money and spreading goods around.

Once ive earned a good few million, THEN ill start building up Cologne and especially producing wine.

Id be interested not only in seeing general trade routes you find profitable, but, for when i start producing wine, your ideas for Wine based import/export routes which avoid the inevitable problems of over production, mass selling into your home city markets and the predictable crashes in price.

On the outset of a new game I set up three main routes. The first grabs skins from Riga, Reval, and Novgorod, in a repeating cycle with the last slot on the route being my home city to drop them off. The second does the same with wine at cologne and bruges. The third autotrades everything at every city - except my home town where it picks up the wine and skins to sell everywhere else.

This will generate a lot of cash without consuming a huge amount of your time to get it set up.

After that I work my way up to alderman and start researching/founding all the other towns. All towns up and running, I start ramping up production evenly across every town. I put together a spreadsheet that places 57 buildings in each town and produces everything.

At this point I have convoys dedicated to supporting the production of goods that require other inputs. One for each the clothing, fish, meat, pelts, mteal goods, etc. Then I dedicate convoys to each city from a hub in the west and a hub in the east... usually Bruges and Danzig - they load from the hub and drop off at the city I named them for and take back whatever it produces to the hub.
