No DLC without re-buying the game?
I know I'm late to the party, but I just finished the original Batman Arkham City for the first time and went to purchase some DLC. Much to my suprise, I found I couldn't, and that I could only re-buy the whole game, the GOTY edition.

You can understand why I don't want to rebuy, re-download, re-play, re-unlock everything just so I can play as Nightwing. Heck, I don't even have space enough on my hard drive for that. What's going on? What am I missing?

Can I buy the DLC from some other source? If so, how do I install it?

As far as I know you can by the DLC from other sources (amazon and maybe a few others). It's been a while since I look so you'd have to check for yourself. I believe you would enter the keys on steam and/or game for windows live.
I was lucky and finished getting the DLC on the last sale before they "dis-conitinued them.
Just to mention it the GOTY edition goes on sale quite a bit, and I think at regular price you get some sort of discount for having owned the previous edition. It's a completely seperate install.

Ok I just bought the DLC from Amazon, and they gave me a Steam Key. Which I used to activate on Steam, but then nothing happened. There wasn't an option for installation, I clicked "Finish" and nothing happened. Opened up my game, still nothing.

Alright, I would sugest going to games for windows live and activating the key on there, I remember having to do that for Haliquins revenge. I believe you can enter the key from the GFWL client inside the game.... if not you might have to go to their web site.

I think they should have upgraded all previous versions to GOTY for free or a small fee.

Have the same problem. It however seemed to give me a perminent DLC it discount on the GOTY edition, at 9.99$ instead of the 29.99$. And when I decided to purchase the game at the discounted prie it reverted back to the standard price. Why did they even take away the choice to buy them singularly I agree with SuperJag86 DON'T make me re-buy the ♥♥♥♥ing game just to get the extra content you pricks.

I believe you have to buy the key from somewhere else than steam. Also, you have to activate it on both steam, and gfwl.

I think you can buy it also from the Windows Live shop within the game interface... really frustrating though, it would be nice just to be able to buy it from steam.

Just going to save for the 29.99$ I guest

Myself Steam sale or Pink Floyd Lover The discount that they give you for already owning the original game.
I've seen the GOTY edition for like $7.50 and I mean Arkham City.. Arkham Asylum GOTY ususally goes on sale for $4.99.
So all the complaining about this it quite dare we say... Well not all it's still making something that could be simple more complicated, Right !?

Its also a big deal to play through the game twice to unlock it all.

Ya ever get Stuck on the Final Boss on the Plus Play through.... I know over and over sure but it's so not Batman, "Like," to have trouble with that... Usually Clayface just needs to be reminded of Why the way he's acting is wrong....
Not....... Well.....

I almost had the same problem as you, but instead I went to GFWL, or now it's just xbox market, but with pc games availible as well, and bought the dlc through them, which are still separate. No sales, but it ended up being cheaper than a whole game re-buy. Works fine with my Steam version of the game.

I looked at the DLC on GFWL and Harley Quinn's Revenge was like 10 bucks compared to the GOTY edition being 7.50 on Steam. Can I transfer the saves from the normal one I have if I get the GOTY edition?

That seems to be the "million," dollar question.....
I can not see why not, but I would get the game to re-save as quick as possible when starting a new game in GOTYE... Not to mention where the save folder is in a very "messed up," location compared to most games.
But Hey it's Batman, Why not load up Arkham Asylum and have a go at some of the "other," villians on their own Turff.
