Restore from backup...but no patch?

I've just recently restored my Arkham City backup, but Steam will not bring the updates that Rocksteady had promised for the Steamworks upgrade. I still see GFWL when I boot up the game. I could re-download, but I am in a country with a slow internet connection. Any tips to force an update? Why wouldn't Steam recognize that I am still on the GFWL version?

You need to use the GOTY edition.

You might try to use your files from the standard edition to limit the amount of files to redownload:

• Start downloading the GOTY edition (1-2 min).
  
• Quit Steam.
  
• Put your files from "batman2" to "batman arkham city goty" in the steamapps folder.
  
• Restart Steam.
  
• Hope the files are recognized.

Thank you very much, but unfortunately for only approximately 50% of the game. I would also modify your method to create the "batman arkham theater" and copy "batman2" BEFORE the process even begins. I believe steam checks for previous files before the download starts.
