Seriously. Even when I KNOW the scripted events. I suck at not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself during this game. And even though I want to make progress I just want to sit in a corner because of the anticipation factor of it all. I mean the monsters themselves are comical looking (other than the suitors from Justine) but just expecting to get killed and have the ♥♥♥♥ scared out of me. It's terrible but great.

I know the feeling mate. When i bought the game, i decided not to spoil myself by looking let's plays, so i went out there, and well i gotta say it was better than many games. I've played the main story for over five times now, and it never ceases to amuse me. But at the first time, i just wanted to press that save and exit all the time. It is indeed terrible... But great.

That's what I do all the time. Save and exit because I am about to throw items from the anticipation of it all. Excitement and all except you can go in guns blazing. Even when I get stuck and resort to the wikiwalkthrough and KNOW when the triggered events are I still get that way.

Absolutely, this post itself says enough IMO. If you REALLY immerse yourself in the game (nice pair of headphones and lights off) it is the scariest game you'll ever play. Also, considering it wasn't voted up in community sale, this is the cheapest it will probably be. I would recommend this game to any and every person. Tip though, don't watch let's play or anything. You need to not know when the scripted events are in the game for full effect. Custom stories and the Justine DLC are also great!

for me its not so scary, its more of waiting for the screen to stop warping lol :P
that and trying to stay out of the water.. that level is annoying

got to the water part and just stood on the platform like dafaque is going on? when that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ monster walked in lol i ran like hell to the door on the left, turned to close it and it was in my face.. it ♥♥♥♥♥ slapped me. the game closed after that automatically.. guess there really is no saving :P

Nope, Justine has no save. But honestly yes, after water part A LOT more happens. Never ever ever look up when the scripted events happen though.

Ha I've only played the demo and it's spooked me pretty good. I walked around the demo with a broom throwing it everytime anything made a noise.

Put all gears in, move coal into oven from room next to the gears room, put levers in correct order, instert rods (found in storage and study areas).

I wouldn't say that guards are comical looking... I'd say their design is quite creepy.

But yeah, I finished the game and I'm on my second playthrough and I still crap my pants every now and then.

Indeed, they appear comicam at first but if you actually read the notes and relize they're disfigured semi-demonic creatures...
