will i ever be able to play amnesia? :(

so i downloaded amnesia christmas day and it downloaded fine but whenever i try to launch the game it opens the launcher and then i click (launch game) after that the loading screen appers it just sits there and after about 2 to 5 seconds this error message pops up saying the words that would haunt me forever (FATAL ERROR 0#) to be honest i would give anything to play this game and any help is brilliant thanks. also when i open the launcher it drags my cursor right into the left side of the screen?
The goal of my post is also to give help to any one who needs it so feel free to ask any time :)
I am also here all of the time to read new posts so i will always be able to reply to you guys as fast as i can :D

You can make the cursor move by pressing the START button on your keyboard (provided you use Windows) or ALT-TABbing, If I remember correctly...
As for the fatal error, try going to My documents\Amnesia\main and removing all files, (except for your user folder)

Which graphic card do you have? I wanted to play Amnesia on my old Laptop with a intergrated Intel graphic card and got the same error.

I have mobile intel 4 series express chipset family
i know that some of these may not work but maybe there is a work around.

I will also give any additional information if any one needs help :)

Yeah, the same thing happened to me. I heard that someone made a hack around it or something, but other than that, I am really sorry to say that you'll need a better graphics card. Everything else looks good though! You may want to check and see if vista will work (i'm pretty sure it will).

i dont know where to go from here should i go to intels website and check for the drivers there. They might have one there that i could change my driver with but im slightly worried that it might not be good enough to put on my laptop because it may not be compatible.also i think that intel doesent update my driver any more :/

I got some thing close as that, i launch the game it loads everything and in the end i can only see the white dot of the game

yeah :/ it seems that for everyone who has a diffrent laptop with intel graphics cards has similar problems i dont think we we should worry to much because im certain that together we will find a sulution :)
also i dont know if this will help but i think we should look into things like the (steam overlay) or even (running a script) to try to get the game to work. i heard that things like these can be located in the amnesia folder. ideas anyone?

Buy and install a new card, it'd be worth it in the long run anyway.

If you're running a laptop it's overly complicated and honestly I'd pay to have it done. I tried to replace a cooling fan in my last laptop and ended up destroying the thing. If you're using a desktop it's fairly simple. If you have the money for it I'd do some upgrades on your PC altogether.

I just wonder sometimes why developers dont think about the people that cant afford laptops with HD graphics cards :/ . do you know how much it would cost to get a new card installd?
you know im just wondering if it would be worth it just to play amnesia :I

Many laptops aren't made for gaming, so the graphics cards aren't up to par. Newer laptops are getting with the program though. Go to google and search Radeon HD graphics cards for notebooks. Find one in your price range then call your local computer store and see about cost to change cards. It's not the most cost effective solution but...

ok i can get to the launch screen fine. but when i click launch my screen goes blank like its going to load but then it comes back to my home screen and says Amnesia.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module ig4icd34.ddl at 0023. 0b 8d 3d 92. its telling me the game is crashing... why is this.
