Haven't bought this yet, but thinking about it
How scary is it? Can this be compared to the old Resident Evil games or even Dead Space?(Not the gameplay, but on how scary it is).

Well it depends, its NOTHING like resident evil games or Dead space games, you should buy this game now its on offer, If you do like it then you have saved money. It gives to a really good buzz of fear aswell as having fun! You should purchase and try this game because It IS very very very scary much more than any horror game I have played, and I play a ♥♥♥♥ ton on horror, but trust me it is fun as well! The monsters are scary as crap!

Amnesia is a much different kind of game than Resident Evil or any other survival horror out there. Amnesia is not full of jump scares or simple ways to kill your enemies (cause you can't). Amnesia is a mental breakdown as you progress through a living nightmare, while still throwing just enough monsters in to keep you on edge for an encounter at all times. Watching someone play Amnesia does not do it justice, you need to play the game to really get the full experience.
I recommend you buy the game while it's on sale, so if you don't like it, not much harm is done.

Personally I never found Resident Evil or Dead Space really scary. Amnesia is imo a MUST have. Atmosphere is amazing, physics are great and the mechanism of keeping your sanity is pretty unique. I've not encountered any monsters yet so couldn't really tell you how scary it is but the gameplay so far has been really good.

My opinion: It's a great game, indeed a must have. I'm not really into horror games but yeah...
You should get it now I also got it on halloween sale a few weeks ago :) (no regrets)

Get it. I think it is scarier than RE because of the fact that there is really nothing you can do to defend yourself. Luckily, you aren't constantly fleeing the really scary monsters, but getting completely freaked out by the story as it unfolds. That and your character is fighting to retain his sanity. The look of the game is awesome, and the voice acting is good. Games like this tend to not get lots of replay value because they are so linear, but I just keep coming back to this one because the story is so...I don't know, it just gets me every time I play it.

much better than RE and dead space

Agreed with everything said, but you have to let yourself become absorbed. The moment you remind yourself that it's just a game, it becomes a rather dull exploration of a dark mansion. That being said, this is one of my favorite indie games of all time, and is certainly up there on my overall list.
who let the dog out?

No weapons - just you and your fear - I calling this a real horror, but someone prefer weapons-based horror games.
Anyway, one of the best games I ever played, can't wait for the sequel.

I feel like I keep repeating myself, but Amnesia is THE best horror experience, bar none, that you can get in modern gaming and cinema.
At €3.74 the game is a steal.
Can't wait for A Machine for Pigs.

Well I have bought the game and I am going to play it. I will give my feedback when I finish it.

I got it for £3.24 and so far it's amazing. The atmosphere is very tense and the whole world complements the atmosphere. It's not a cheap jump out scare like Dead Space, but it's psyschological. Undobutedly the scariest game I have played to date.

When I watched people play it I thought to myself "Heh, this doesn't look THAT scary!"
First grunt encounter. Only seen him for a few seconds. Sanity is at ...
FOOTSTEPS. NERVES ARE WRECKED. CALL THE AMBULANCE.
Yeah it's a really friggin' good game.

Pfff... you call Resident Evil "scary"? It's nothing compared to Amnesia. But it probably depends on what is personally scary for you. I'm just not really scared when i know i can kill my enemies and fight back. In Amnesia, you're just .. helpless. And the music and atmosphere make it even worse.
