Content servers unreachable?

I'm trying to download this game but it always gives me an error (either "content servers unreachable" or "no connection" - even though I have a stable connection) and changing the download servers in the Steam settings doesn't get me any further.
Anyone else having this issue? Are their download servers down or is this just me having this issue?

Nevermind, it appears to be an issue with me since my friend could download this game without problems...
