Can we just appreciate Amnesia's sound design?
Only horror game ive played has been outlast, had a blast with the game and never felt too scared. I am 15 minutes into amnesia and I cannot even launch the game, not because of how it looks or the monster itself suddendly popping out, the sound just gives me anxiety attacks. Anyone else agrees?

Yup. Couldn't even bring myself to look at a full gameplay video for that game. Playing SCP is like saying "yeah, i don't mind heart problems."

Indeed! It's one of those horror games that has jumpscares but manages to pull them off in a way so that when they do appear, they're scary, not annoying. And speaking of anxiety attacks, back 5-ish years ago when i played this game for the first time i could barely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ breathe whilst hiding in the closet that the grunt so surely would pass by. It's an amazing game, really!

As much as I loved the sound design in Amnesia, I can say that SOMA did some of the best sound design I've heard in any horror game. Being inside those vents and hearing Terry Akers scream from a few rooms away always made me paranoid.

I was gonna buy SOMA, then got told how easy it was, then bought this, insurgency, and bad company 2 instead. Honestly no regrets, Il buy it in the halloween sale hopefully

I'd say Amnesia is much easier than SOMA. SOMA has some better puzzles, better story, better and more variety in monsters. However, the monsters are among the easy side to SOMA. They're smarter than Amnesia monsters, but they're still not that great. It shouldn't just be "camp in corner if monster is nearby", as I'd like to see some monster avoidance in more puzzles as well, that would be really tense and scary.
