Waiting to download!

Hey guys! I'm really excited that DOTA 2 finally launched! However, it says they will email me once I can download the client. It says I'm 2984 in queue! I completely understand what's going on, all I need to know is how long more or less will it take? Is it a process that will take hours, days, weeks? Just wondering!

Also, I just told a friend about the release and he did the same thing and he made the 2694! What does that mean? I entered the queue last night, and he did like an hour ago.

You probably got lower on the queue but your stat didn't decrease because there was no changes made on the servers yet, check the other thread about queue and you will some people made it in already.

Someone that was 3k, said it took him 2 hours. Another at 1.3k said he's been waiting 5 hours. I don't understand their number system, but it seems that:
There's a hidden group number. Each group has a certain number of people, and that is the number shown. These groups are let in slowly from 1-xxxx. Pause to check server stability. Queue in next group.

The friend I talked about earlier is now able to download DOTA 2! And he applied like 2 hours ago? I applied last night. Hmm, weird queue system.

I got the email but I can't find where to download it. I click "play now" and it rediect me to the community page. It also don't show up in my library which the email told me to find it in. This reminds me why I have unstall steam 3rd time on my computer already. Sigh, if not DotA 2 required steam I would never come back.

Edit: the email was send 3 hours ago.
Edit: Solved. I restarted steam again then it appeared in the libaray. Weird that it did not work the first time I restarted it.

I think it also depends on where you live. If there are many people trying to download Dota 2 in your area it will take longer.
