wow that is horrible, cause then it makes match making horrible. There is a language barrier and sometimes i get TEAMS of spanish/Portuguese players and i get called bad and reported for being a "noob" ......the sad world of match making is sick

I don't want to sound apologetic or racist but people from Eu queue on the Us servers because Eu West, sometimes, is filled with russian only speaking players and would like to avoid communication issues. While in no way I want this to turn in an anti-russian crusade as usual (I had also very intese and fun matches with russian players, even when we didn't understand eachother), that's what sparkled the aforementioned issue. Me? I'm italian, I understand and speak english and I queue on the Us servers simply because I rarely experience lag and I have so much more fun than on the Eu server.

Another reason may be that most new players don't bother checking which server the're searching games, mostly because I don't think they know there's an option for it. It's also true that when you extend your search range you are most likely to find a game in a few minutes instead of having to wait for 5 to 10.
