character lock on

We hontestly need some button or setting that can enable the camara to stay locked around your character. This could be very beneficial for players who have a bad mouse which would have trouble moving around the map and such without clicking on the minimap, or for people who just lag in general and find their view point is way off where their character is or where they want to see.

A solution for players having a bad mouse would be getting a better mouse.

I also don't understand the appeal of having the camera locked on your character.

Use WASD instead of mouse, that works unless you got the configeruation that your abilites are all letters not numbers, not sure if arrow keys work?

@Nordic it would be kinda a hassle to be constantly double f1 (or spacebar) to be going back to your character

The first think I did in League of LoL tutorial is to unlock camera. And that was my first expierence in dota genre, ever.

Just buy a new mouse, they are not expensive.

Locking the camera on your hero is pretty dangerous because there are heroes with long range spells or initiation moves. For example, let's say your team grouped together and decided to attack a tower. There might be an enemy hero called Sand King with a blink dagger and he can destroy your team easily if he's able to get off his spell combo, a combination of a short range teleport followed by an AOE stun with a high damage ultimate. If your camera is focused only on yourself, you won't be able to see his location on your screen, so you'll be less likely to avoid him. You can maybe see him on the mini-map but it's a poor indication of precisely how far the hero is.

If you really want to use locked camera, then you should use it as a toggle. When you need to see far away, turn it off. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

Like the others, I would recommend a new mouse. It doesn't have to be an expensive one. For example, the Gigabyte m6800 has very good reviews.

You can always just double click your hero portrait next to your Hp/Mana bars to have the camera follow and focus your hero. I use it most of the time as i usually play right click heroes, but as Chrono said, you have to unlock your camera every once in a while and I do so whenever im pushing a tower, setting up a blink or when there are other blink initiators on the opposing team.

@Chronos I totally agree with what you're saying, im just thinking at times just haveing the option of doing it and taking it off instantly should be there. With AFK guy's comment, my friends play league (I have not tried it), they just hold spacebar if they wan tthe viewpoint on them and release the spacebar when they dont want it on them.

find a small heavy item in size of your f1 button and just leave it on the button so it stays pressed

To reiterate for TLDR purposes. Double click the picture on the bottom of the screen twice for lock, (same works on portraits of team-mates and yourself on the top)
