Is Hand of Midas good?

If you go for Midas first on a carry like Void or Medusa you risk becoming useless early game beacause giving 2000 gold early is huge and your team maybe depends on you to fight earler than planned.

And it makes no sense on heroes that can normally farm creeps. Midas gives you passive gold, while Medusa etc has splithsot/cleaving, while Void usually has Maelstrom (or you go for pos 3, you can buy HoM no one is farming). Legion's Commander, Viper have easy farm as well, but they cannot win by farming and need snowball, so you usually go for Blink (or Phase boots if you don't buy any boots before SB), and Mekansm on Viper, for example

It might be good on supports though (dmg/hp talent is better than passive gold one), because you get 2,5* much experience from big jungle/ranged lane creep.

i was thinking like you. However, when you buy Midas in early game, you start to farm easier until very late game , ofc do not buy Midas everytime.

Its good for support that need a end game item like Silencer/Warlock.

Or any hero that need to rush level for talents. Like Invoker.

For the hand of midas you trade in gold for xp, so you buy it on guys that you want to lvl up fast (np, meepo, ogre, doom, enigma,....)

But if you know that your team and the enemy team go for late game then hand of midas can be used to get some extra gold to buy the big cost items.

PS: you earned your gold back after 18 min. of using hand of midas right after it return from cooldown.

If its a typical pub where you have 3 carries get it because there isnt any space

if you go midas with meepo you can get to lvl 25 while the enemy is around lvl 15

You can get lv25 meepo early even without midas...just have a few stacks ready up.

Yes..but dont forget about 2.5x exp..most of the time people buy Hand of midas because want to lvl up quickly and with new 7.00 some carry need lvl15/20 talent tree quick..
