Ironic that I'm taking time to write the post? Whatever, took me two minutes to write this.

I'm about 30, and I've been gaming since I was a kid. Nowadays, hopping on for a game of dota is about the only gaming luxury I have time for. I have a corporate job, I'm a landlord, and I'm in the reserves.

I don't have time to deal with your broken low priority system.
Witness scenarios... all these happen to everyone at some point... or at least people who have lives...
A) random person gets upset for <reasons> and reports--you think limiting the number of reports stops this? lol it doesn't.
B) internet takes a ♥♥♥♥--nothing anyone can do about this.
C) work call and people refuse to be patient--so you say don't queue when you might get a call, great so I'll just never queue for a match ever again... not a solution
D) uninstall dota, useful advice, thanks

Being in Low Priority itself doesn't bother me. I have a life and not always time to dota, consequence of being busy, I get it. What's unacceptable is being blocked from queueing for matches as a result of an above scenario or just life. I have limited time in a day and DEFINITELY do not have 20 minutes, 60 minutes to sit around and twiddle my thumbs.

"So, propose a solution" Not my job, Dota 2 doesn't pay me to come up with ideas for their game. You do it, and stop wasting people's time.

It's your responsibility to plan AROUND your life. You don't get excused from the normal rules because you think your life is more important than other people's.

Regardless of the circumstance surrounding your abandon you still ruin the game for 9 other people.

A) Yes that's why in my near 2.7k hours of dota I rarely get reported. Think I'm a special case? There are plenty of others (Around 77% I believe based on the conduct summary generated every 25 games) that also have a low report rate, if someone becomes toxic ignore them, mute them if you have to. Don't engage them.
B) You get 1 free abandon (I belive it was every week or a certain number of games) for circumstances like this.
C) While I'm unsure about the semantics of the corporate machine you are currently employed to if there really is no time at all to queue for a match try lobbies or custom games. Both of these I believe don't give punishment for leavers, but be warned you will also likely see more skill variation and leavers in this, but considering you seem to play dota as more entertainment this seems like a good alternative.

Dota is a time consuming multiplayer competetive game. If you really are on a time crunch then maybe try something where you can simply put it down. There are plenty of games out there that can accomidate for a lack of time to play.

you can always try league of legends... its not so bad, is easy. but does not have the mechanics of dota.

I assure you, they've heard this complaint raised before. If it hasn't been implemented then either Valve hasn't figured out a way to make it so that it doesn't cause more problems than it solves, or they don't think it's worth the time.

Most people agree that you can abandon about 1 match per week without penalty, so the real question is, why are you abandoning more than that?

ok, so , dota´s rules are not gonna change just because u have a busy life, I´m pretty sure every1 does at their own way , every1 has to dedicate time to many things besides dota , It´s sad but if u are in ur 30´s and u have such a busy life I´m pretty sure it´s about time u leave dota but ofc thats for u to decide....honestly dota is a game that requires a lot of dedication and time and if u dont have any of those maybe dota is not for u anymore...or as someone suggested u can try custom games or lobby matches....
