saints row 3 or 4?

So I have never played saints row before, but it looks like a nice buy now that its on sale. I've heard some mixed reviews on which is better, so should I get saints row 3 or saints row 4?

I am debating the same thing. I am leaning towards the third one for now and getting the fourth later on when its on sale with dlcs. I have read that it is as good and its only $6 with all the dlcs.

Do you want to have fun super powers to play with and aliens/simulated humans to kill or do you prefer traveling around town in sweet rides and killing humans/rival gang members? Not that you don't have sweet rides in 4, they just aren't necessary to get around due to the super powers.

I think they're both really good games and it's hard to say one is better than the other, for me. I love the super powers in 4. I love the vehicles and weapons in both. The game play itself is pretty similar. Both have some good music on the radio stations. Both have really good graphics, though some don't like the effects of the virtual simulation of 4 (some can be removed with mods but not all). 3 has cribs where you access your wardrobe and garage, and is where you log in at, as well as a hangar at the airport to access your planes. 4 has a spaceship that you can get as your crib but I haven't gotten that on the save file I'm currently playing (I accidentally overwrote the save file that had it) so not sure if you log in on the ship or standing near the street by Kinzie's old warehouse like you do before getting the ship.

I think ima get the 3rd one for now since it include the dlcs and wait for the game+dlc version of the 4rth one to come out. Thanks for replies.

okay so having played the entire series on my xbox, i would say def get number 3, especially thats its on sale with the all dlc bundle. The game is well made and if you have a friend to play with it can bring hours of entertainment, 4th saints row is also really good, but it better to w8 for all the dlc and when its on sale :D

I played both, imo the third is better.
Saints Row 4 is more into alien scifi stuff.
If you like fun, gangsters and your own safehouses to buy I recommend The Third. Because in 4 you cant and dont have the opportunity to have safehouses.
